| 10. How long shall I meditate? |

Question: Someone told me that it is enough to do meditation for 15 minutes. Please explain. (Wiryawan, Klungkung) Answer: It depends on the meditation technique. Each meditation has its own technique, however, Bali Usada Health Meditation stresses out on the balance of Concentration, Mindfulness, Loving Kindness and Wisdom, and therefore it takes longer time. If you just wish to relax your body through meditation, 15 minutes is enough. In my own experience during meditation, I truly believe that we should meditate relatively long. It takes 30 minutes to make your body healthier and to calm your mind; 45 minutes to release your bad reaction from past memories; and 1 hour is the ideal time for meditation if you wish to use it as a tool to train and strengthen yourself to face the wave of life, to make your body healthier, your mind calmer and happier in facing the life.
